Linwood Crump Shiloh Center COVID-19 Testing Site

Buncombe County is offering community based COVID-19 testing for people who live, work, play, and pray in the Shiloh Community. No pre-registration is required for testing. Getting tested for COVID-19 is important because it helps to quickly identify infection and slows the spread of the virus, which has had a disproportionate impact on communities of color. Slow the spread of COVID-19 by gaining access to COVID-19 testing in the Shiloh community at the Linwood Crump Shiloh Center located at 142 Shiloh Rd. Asheville, NC 28803.

COVID-19 testing will be available at the Shiloh Friendship Center on the following dates and times.

·      October 6th,  9:30-1:30

·      October 7th, 2- 6PM

·      October 13th, 9:30-1:30

·      October 14th, 2-6PM

Who Should Get Tested:

If you work in a restaurant, grocery store, healthcare setting, construction site, or food or manufacturing plant, you could be a higher risk for COVID-19. If you are a front line employee or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 or if you have been around anyone with symptoms suggestive of COVID-19, it is important to get tested. People over 65 years of age or people of any age with underlying health conditions should get tested. Those who have attended mass gatherings (protests, marches, rallies, funerals, parties, cookouts, etc.), particularly if they were in crowds or other situations where they couldn’t practice effective social distancing are also recommended for testing. People with COVID-19 have reported a wide range of mild to severe symptoms such as headache, sore throat, and cough. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.

Remember there is no cost at the community testing sites. If you have insurance, it will be billed to cover the cost of the test. Spanish medical interpreters are on site at each community testing site location to assist those who need it. This testing event is geared towards the Shiloh community and has both drive-thru and walk up options. Find more information about COVID-19 testing in Buncombe County at www.buncombeready.org.
